En un mundo dividido entre los renios de "Dentro" y "Fuera", está prohibido que los habitantes de ambos reinos crucen al otro. Una niña llamada Shiva vive en el reino que no le pertenece, en un pueblo vacío con un guardián demoníaco llamado sólo como "Sensei", con el cuál tiene una estrecha relación. Shiva decide marcharse del cuidado de Sensei para buscar a su abuela, lo que lleva a que el misterioso secreto del por qué ella vive en el reino contiguo salga a la luz.
